Philippine Current President Noynoy Aquino Banned KPOP in Local Radio

This is unbelievably redundant!! I just can't believe that he just did that!!!

If they are Banning KPOP then so should Justin Beiber and Lady GaGa and SO and SO!

The said reason according to the blogs I read around the net is that, P-Noy (is truly abnoy by the way) wants us Pinoys to be truly nationalistic, which became a huge trend since Francs "KIKO MAGALLONA" passed away (which started the nationwide fashion statement of wearing apparels from head to toenails with the Philippine Flag design which again I think is not nationalistic but Stupid because a lot of Filipinos looked like walking Philippine Flags!) And he might have thought that Banning KPOP and Promoting OPM will make Filipinos more nationalistic.

I have nothing against OPM and President Noynoy, it's just that i don't think that it's right! It's foolish, racist and not well thought of! What the Philippines need is not OPM but actual progress!

OPM actually is very western sooo I can say that there is no real OPM! Well maybe back in the days where KUNDIMAN is sang. OPM is so fond of REVIVALS of WESTERN SONGS!!!! take note WESTERN SONGS!! But there are also Filipino artist who made original Pilipino Music as in ORIGINAL!!! like Francis "KIKO" Magallona, Gloc 9, Michael V. Ogie Alcasid and the likes. Then there are the rock and acoustic bands that from time to time are also fans of REVIVALS but they Always try to bring something fresh like Rivermaya, Hale, 6cyclemind and so on. (we've got lots of them)

When KPOP invaded the Philippines it swept the whole nation and got people young and old alike dancing to Nobody by Wondergirls and Fire, I Don't Care by 2ne1 and so on. and then out of the blue PPOP (Pinoy POP) was born and obviuosly, it is patterned to KPOP. It was actually nice that we Filipino's are actually producing new materials instead of endless REVIVALS though this got a lot of KPOP fans furious for PPOP is so close and identical to KPOP and they hate it. Well I don't have a stand about that because I personally like both Genre. I became a fan long before it became known to all Filipino's and was happy to see the effect to my fellow countrymen. Then it hit me that "truly music has a universal appeal". and it can "put away nationalistic prejudices and biases" till now!

I honestly can't understand and never will.
I believe that being a KPOP fan is not being non-nationalistic. I believe that it is a challenge for us Filipino's to re-invent OPM because people are starting to sick of it. It's generally the same thing over and over again. I know that we can do it for Filipino's are creative and talented. No need for revivals and mimicking and BANNING KPOP or any other Foreign Music for that is rubbish, no need for such actions.

  3. Banning KPOP is not the way to make OPM rise or beat Kpop songs/artists...or others
Liking foreign music doesn't mean that you are not being nationalistic...
We should make OPM better... there are alot of talented filipino artists....

It's good to hear that it was only banned in Radios .. .. .. .
